Description
In this first installation, Hesenê Salihê Mirad (1967), from the Cefrî tribe in Dugurê, recounts his life story. He speaks about his childhood, his home, and his family, and how they worked to make a living. He discusses fasting and its attendant celebrations, festival and other holidays like the Yazidi New Year. He remembers the games they played during various fasts and reminisces about wedding parties, his education, and school. He describes how he balanced studying and working, and how he divided his time for study. He also describes traditional Yazidi clothing, his experiences with the military, and the story of how his grandparents were imprisoned and survived. As a proud parents, he also tells of his children.
