Description
Heyder Hesen Miço (1955-) grew up in Kola Xan, a village in Shingal. He relates the difficulties, given systemized poverty and widespread persecution, of getting an education. After leaving school to help his family, he worked as a shepherd for twelve years, at which point the Iran-Iraq War broke out and he was drafted into the Iraqi Army. Iranian forces captured and imprisoned him in April 1982, holding him for six years with sixty-two other people. Upon his release, he came home and reunited with his family.
